Responsible Gambling
Gambling is entertainment. It is not a way to make money, it is not a way to recover money you have already lost, and it is not a solution to a financial or emotional problem. Before you place a bet please read this page carefully and apply what is relevant to your situation.

Signs that gambling is becoming a problem
Problem gambling rarely starts as a problem. The shift is gradual and easy to miss. Common warning signs include: spending more money on betting than you originally planned; chasing losses by raising stakes; borrowing money or selling possessions to fund bets; hiding the extent of your gambling from people close to you; betting to relieve stress, sadness or boredom rather than for entertainment; feeling anxious or irritable when you cannot bet; missing work, study or family obligations because of gambling.
If three or more of those apply to your current behaviour, please treat that as a serious signal. The earlier you act, the easier the situation is to address.
Practical controls you can use today
Every licensed operator we review offers responsible gambling tools. Use them. The most useful are:
- Deposit limit — cap the amount you can deposit per day, week or month. Set this when you open the account, when your mind is clearest.
- Loss limit — cap the amount you can lose over a defined period; this differs from a deposit limit because it takes winnings into account.
- Session reminder — have the platform pop up a message every 30 or 60 minutes telling you how long you have been playing.
- Reality check — pause and review your current net profit or loss before placing the next bet.
- Cool-off period — lock the account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Most operators offer this and you can request it from customer support.
- Self-exclusion — close the account for six months or longer. This is irreversible during the exclusion window. Use it if you have decided that you need to stop.
Protecting people around you
If you live with someone who is gambling problematically, look after your own welfare first. Do not lend them money to chase losses. Do not co-sign loans they take out for gambling. Encourage them to call one of the helplines above but understand that they have to want help; you cannot force the decision.
If a minor in your household is exposed to gambling content on a shared device, install parental controls and do not save your login credentials in browsers that the minor uses.
Our editorial commitment
1win Army applies a hard internal rule: we do not publish guides on how to chase losses, we do not publish “guaranteed win” systems because no such system exists, and we down-rate any operator that promotes its bonuses in a way which targets distressed players. The 18+ badge appears on every page of this site for a reason.
